Ten questions from Wife, Megan
Megan & Tj { Married 24.01.2014 }
1. Tell us your story, how did you meet, fall in love & become engaged?
I met my husband one night when I was supposed to go to the movies with a girlfriend and she got a phone call from her boyfriend asking us if we wanted to go camping. I wasn't very keen on it but I still went! He picked us up in a tinney from the broadwater and we went over to wave break for the night. The moment I knew I was in love with him was 14th Feburary 2007 when he gave me a heartfelt card and an amazing massage even after he was at work all day. We had spoken about getting engaged in the furture and after being together for only 5-6.5 months we went and bought an engagement ring and he proposed that night as I was too impatient.
2. Was there any special significance on the date you chose for your wedding?
The date we finally chose to get married means a lot to my in laws. It is the wedding anniversary of my husband’s parents and his mum is no longer with us. He was the only child not to have his mum there to see him get married!
3. Where was the location of your wedding & what made you choose this location?
We chose to have our ceremony down at Pat Fagan Park at Coolangatta and Reception at Twin Towns Resort. We chose to have it down there as we wanted somewhere with a lookout and a view of the beautiful coastline and we enjoy spending time down there as a little family. We chose the visions room because of how big the room was as we didn't want it to be too cramped for our guests. We ended up having our ceremony inside the visions room as the weather wasn't being very nice.
4. How many bridesmaids did you have, what do they mean to you?
I had three bridesmaids. I had my cousin as my maid of honour. She was absolutely amazing on the day. She is and always will be my best friend even miles apart from each other. I then had my sister in law as a bridesmaid. She is more a sister then an in law. She has been there for me through everything good or bad. Lastly I had my childhood friend as a bridesmaid. She is and always will be my best friend. We have been through a lot together. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it wasn't for her!
5. Tell me about your experience with Invitation Designs by Eliza?
I stumbled across Invitation Designs by Eliza one day when I was on Facebook. I had a look at the beautiful work she did and I knew she was the one who would make our wedding invitations. She is very professional and put hers whole heart and soul into everything she does.
6. What Invitations & Stationery did you order through Invitation Designs by Eliza? What did you love about them?
I ordered my wedding invitations, wishing well cards, seating chart and a memory frame. When I had a sneak peek of them I was blown away by them. I couldn't believe how beautiful they were and how she incorporated my colours into them was amazing. I look at them every day and I love them even more.
7. How did you tame your wedding day nerves?
To be very honest I was not nervous on the day of the wedding. I had my girls, mum and hair and makeup artist saying I was very calm and didn't seem nervous. I think was i was more excited as it had been a long time coming.
8. What was your wedding inspiration? (Think decor, overall theme & feel of the day, etc.)
I never really had a theme in mind. I didn't want the typical beach theme wedding. We focused more on the colours of my wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses. We wanted a relaxed and fun loving wedding. The day went to plan with how we wanted it minus the weather!
9. What is something you have learned throughout the planning process you didn’t know before hand?
I learnt that people in the wedding business are so busy with other celebrations and that you can't expect a reply or answer from them with a day. You need to give them time for things. Also that once you mention weddings the price of things go up and that there are so many businesses out there just for the money.
10. What was your favourite thing about your wedding?
My favourite thing about my wedding was finally becoming Mrs Ditcham after 7 years and so many failed attempts. Also having all our loved ones there and having my two best friends standing next to me! The day was amazing and wouldn't change anything about it!
