Do you want to know the background of beautiful colours like Red, Orange, Yellow or Green?
Please read our colour expert Melanie's blog below... :-)
By studying colour, the advice I can give you is to choose a colour you really love for your wedding – this way you can’t go wrong.
Then choose a second colour you love & find a way to make those colours work together. An idea that works well is choosing a max of three colours – the main colour (about 65 to 70%) plus a supporting colour (about 25%) then add an accent colour (about 5 to 10%).
Another idea is to find inspiration by creating a board with pictures of items you would like to incorporate into your wedding. Go through bridal magazines & read articles on weddings to find the things you love. This could include colours, invitation ideas, flowers, wedding gowns, bridesmaid’s dresses etc.
A little insight of colour phycology for your wedding…
{Red} creates passion, energy & excitement as well as high energy & lots of action.
Red in your wedding colours identifies you as extroverted, confident & optimistic. As red is an attention-getting colour, whichever way you look at it, you will be noticed & will be the centre of attention – which of course is perfect for your wedding day.
{Orange} is an uplifting, optimistic, positive & motivational colour which exudes warmth & happiness. Orange in your wedding colours will create a friendly & social mood with lots of chatting amongst the guests, laughter, fun & enthusiasm. Choosing orange means you are independent & competitive, assertive, extroverted & always on the go.
{Yellow} is illuminating & uplifting, relating to the mind & the intellect. Yellow in your wedding colours will create a warm, welcoming, cheerful & happy mood which will lift up the spirits of your guests. If you have chosen yellow as your wedding colour, you are creative with many original ideas and thoughts, but with much practicality – this is not the colour of the fantasy dreamer, more the practical idealist.
{Green} is a colour of rebirth, renewal, growth & it balances the emotions. Green in your wedding colours will create a calming & restful mood with enough warmth to encourage a feeling of unity & togetherness among the guests. If you have chosen green for your wedding colour you are a very nurturing & compassionate person, loving yourself & others unconditionally – you will plan your wedding for all your family & friends as much as for yourself.
